The village of Agbor Obi had a small turnout for the health fair. There was a slow flow of patients which provided more time for the students to learns and the doctors to teach. We were able to take our time to help each patient to the best of our ability. I learned the most and gained the most experience during this health fair due to the decreased number of patients. This is the first health fair that I lead in teaching CPR with our translator. I worked prescription and gained one on one experience describing a medication to a patient. I also had the chance to specify to patients how they should take their medications. Many patients from this health fair traveled over an hour to be seen by doctor. While shadowing a doctor, I met a mother with three out of four blind children ages 5 months to 7 years of age. After meeting this mother, I had a flood of appreciation for the availability of health care in America compared to a third world country. While dispensing medication, the doctors even left their stations to explain why they were dispensing particular medications to treat different patients.
